Description
Seven Falls
June 10th 2026

Seven Falls (also known as the Tintwistle Seven Falls) is a hidden sequence of waterfalls on Arnfield Brook, located in the northern “Dark Peak” area near Glossop.
Unlike Waterfall Swallet, which is a single drop into a sinkhole, Seven Falls is a series of cascading drops that tumble down from the rugged moorland of Tintwistle Knarr.
The Route and Experience
The walk to the falls is a 3- to 6-mile circular route (depending on how much you explore) and is considered a “hidden gem” because it isn’t signposted and requires a bit of navigation.
The Waterfalls: You’ll find a series of seven distinct drops (though some say there are more) along the brook. The lower falls are larger and more dramatic, while the upper ones are smaller, peaceful cascades.
Wild Swimming: Some of the pools beneath the falls are deep enough for a “wild dip,” making it a popular spot in the summer months—though the water is famously cold!
Terrain: The walk starts on easy farm tracks, but to see the falls properly, you have to scramble down steep, muddy, and often slippery banks to the water’s edge.
