An evening focussing on the skills for building a safe and secure top/bottom rope belay.

Some folk would call this an Anchor.

skills covered.

choosing bomber placements for primary anchor.

multiple placements, 2nd and 3rd placements.

redundancy

equalization.

building with rope,  and building with slings,   covering the differences.

Covering ABC, SERENE, ERNEST   and more daft letter combinations.

Knots.

if you want homework in advance.  come able to tie  figure 8.  figure 8 on a bight, bowline,  clove hitch,  italian/munter hitch and bunny ears.    we will cover and teach those during the session.

you will need.

harness, helmet, rope if you have it, although i can bring rope, both static and dynamic. and 6 – 8 carabiners

if you dont have a helmet, let me know, i have plenty.

We can also cover building releasable abseils (time dependant) and how to self abseil down.
