Here are a few interesting routes around the Peak District, including some lesser known ones north of Lansett Water:

  • Kinder Scout:This iconic route is a must-do for any Peak District enthusiast. The views from the summit are simply stunning, and the hike itself is a challenging but rewarding experience.
  • Mam Tor and Castleton:This loop takes in some of the most dramatic scenery in the Peak District, including Mam Tor, a limestone hill with a distinctive peak, and the village of Castleton, with its medieval castle.
  • Derwent Edge:This route offers stunning views of the Derwent Valley and surrounding hills. It’s a great choice for a moderate-level hike
  • Lesser-known routes north of Lansett Water: For something a little different, explore the following routes:
    • Stanage Edge:This gritstone escarpment is a popular spot for rock climbing, but it also offers some fantastic walking trails with panoramic views.
    • Howden Reservoir:This area is home to a beautiful reservoir and offers a variety of walking trails, perfect for a peaceful escape.
    • Ogden Clough:This hidden gem is a wooded valley with a stream running through it. It’s a great place for a shorter, more relaxing walk.
